[MEET the MONSTERS!]

The Studio

What makes a monster?  Or, more precisely -- WHO makes a monster…??

Founded in 1987 by three-time Emmy® Award-winner Todd Masters, MastersFX is a full-service character FX company, with studios located in Vancouver, BC and Toronto, Ontario.

Known for a diverse history of practical characters and visual FX – MastersFX is the studio that created the cadavers from “Six Feet Under”, the vampires for “True Blood”, Jack from the Jack in the Box commercials, Bib the Michelin Man, The Borg from “Star Trek”, the babies from “Look Who’s Talking”, the werewolves from “Underworld: Awakening”, Chucky from “Child’s Play”, and the Predator from “The Predator”, just to name a few!

MastersFX’s creative teams produce a distinctive blend of practical & digital makeup FX, using prosthetics and animatronics, for the entertainment industry’s biggest movies and television shows - such as: “Yellowjackets”, “Tales from the Crypt”, “Robocop”, “Slither”, “The Good Doctor”, and “Fringe”.

Presently, MastersFX’s work can be seen in NEON's “It Lives Inside”, Nickelodeon’s “Monster High 2”, “Vindicta” from Paramount, and Netflix’s “The Fall of the House of Usher”.

Coming soon: Season 4 of “The Boys” and “The Umbrella Academy”, Season 1 of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”, the feature film “Hell Hole” and the thriller series “Beacon 23”.
